Today I had the opportunity to explore Barcelona’s Life Science cluster – a dynamic and fast-growing hub with strong relevance for both Spain and Europe.

Barcelona combines cutting-edge research, innovative start-ups, and strong industrial players like Grifols, Almirall, Bayer, Roche, and the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST). With more than 1,300 life science companies, top universities, and an active support ecosystem, the region stands out as one of Europe’s leading biotech and health innovation hotspots.

What makes Barcelona especially attractive is its high density of talent, proximity to top-tier research and hospitals, and the growing demand for modern lab and office spaces. This creates compelling opportunities for investment in life science real estate.
